Her debut single, Here in 2015 at the age of 19 years old. The song was an instant smash and garnered praise from both listeners and critics alike. It reached number 19 on both the Canadian Hot 100 and Billboard Hot 100. Even Rolling Stone ranked the song as one of 2015's Top Songs. Her debut Know It All album in the year that followed. The third track, Scars to Your Beautiful was the first of five tracks that made it to the top of the charts on Billboard as well as the Canadian Albums Chart Billboard 200 and Billboard Hot 100. According to an interview Cara did in conjunction with Rap Up, the song had a lot in the minds of many people who listened to her story about learning to accept and love yourself. Cara has earned a name for incorporating messages about mental health, kindness and self-love into her songs. Her music is a reflection of her own struggles with insomnia and mental health. In a Reuters interview, she described her album as half-tumultuous and half well-crafted. She found growth through therapy and encourages other people to seek assistance if needed. Alessia Cara was born to Italian parents on July 11th, 1996. At the age of 10 old, her parents gifted her a guitar that became the foundation of her love for music. She began to cover the songs she loved at thirteen to show that world that she had the skills and the courage necessary to be the next singer. In fact, one of the covers Sweater Weather was able to get her noticed by a record label named EP Entertainment which allowed her to write and create songs.
